Intesa Sanpaolo Group is one of the largest and well known banking groups in Europe. And with a market capitalization of EUR 42.0 billion, it is the sixth-largest bank in Italy, ranked by revenue (and among the leading 500 globally).
The Intesa Sanpaolo Group was formed in January 2007 following the merger between Banca Intesa and Sanpaolo IMI, and it has established itself as a leader in all financial areas – retail, commercial, corporate and wealth management. The group serves over 11.1 million clients from about 4500 branches spread throughout Italy, and an additional 7.9 million customers via a network of approximately 1,400 branches strategically located in Central and Eastern Europe as well as in Middle East and North Africa.
Its operations include seven units: Banca dei Territori, corporate and investment banking, international subsidiary banks, private banking, asset management, Capital Light Bank for non-core activities, and insurance divisions.
