Banco Popolare


Banco Popolare is the largest cooperative bank in Italy and one of the leading banking groups in the country. It was formed in 2007 following the merger between Banca Popolare Italiana and Banco Popolare di Verona e Novara. It is headquartered in Verona.

The bank has a significant presence in the northern regions, specifically Liguria, Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Tuscany, and Veneto. In addition to retail banking, the group focuses on corporate finance, asset management, and consumer credit services. Banco Popolare serves approximately 2.6 million customers with approximately 2,000 branches and about 17,000 employees.

The bank also has a foreign branch London and subsidiaries in about 6 European nations as well as representative offices in Russia, China, and India. Banco Popolare is listed on the Borsa Italiana where it ranked 10th among the other banks in Italy.
