About Mediobanca Premier

Mediobanca launched CheBanca! in 2008 as a mostly online retail bank. In 2024 it renamed it Mediobanca Premier and repositioned it towards savers and wealth-management clients.

Mediobanca itself has been controlled by Monte dei Paschi di Siena since 2025. In October 2026 MPS shareholders rejected a plan to merge the two, so Mediobanca Premier remains a separate bank for now.

Mediobanca Premier SWIFT/BIC and ABI codes

Mediobanca Premier uses the SWIFT/BIC code MICSITM1 for its head office. When a form asks for 11 characters, add XXX to make MICSITM1XXX. Some branches and services have their own 11-character codes; if the account holder gives you one, use theirs.

The ABI code 03058 identifies Mediobanca Premier inside every Italian IBAN. It sits in characters 6 to 10, straight after the check letter (CIN):

Using Mediobanca Premier ATMs with a foreign card

Mediobanca Premier has a small network of branches. Its customers mostly use other banks’ ATMs.

Opening a Mediobanca Premier account as a foreigner
